Review: WetnWild Megalast Lipstick in Dollhouse Pink & Just Peachy

I fell in love with the vibrancy and pigmentation the first time I tried WetnWild Megalast lipsticks. Color payoff is superb! I didn't let the opportunity pass when my sister's friend went to US for a visit. WnW lipsticks here in the Philippines are being sold for 299php (7.5 USD) at leading malls when they're only 100php (1.99 USD) in the US. I got these two for only 200php. Big savings!

I had a difficult time choosing what colors to buy because there is a wide variety to choose from. I ended up getting Just Peachy and Dollhouse Pink. I don't have any color similar to these two from my lipstick collection yet.

Label: Have you noticed the improvement? I did! The earlier batches of WnW Megalast lipsticks only have number codes as labels. Finally, they have added the names at the bottom as well. No need to memorize numbers anymore!

Packaging: The cheap, not so sturdy packaging is the only thing I don't like about the lipstick. It has a clear cap that would not lock securely. Also, the lipstick bullet is sticking out that is why it is tough to put the cap back on. You have to be extra cautious! You don't want to ruin your lipstick, do you?

I think the lipstick bullet is a bit longer than usual lipsticks. Impressive!

Stoplight Red, Dollhouse Pink, Just Peachy, Think Pink
Remember Stoplight Red and Think Pink? I already made a review about them here. They are sample sizes whereas Dollhouse Pink and Just Peachy are full-sized ones.

Just Peachy is the perfect peachy nude lipstick for me! Unlike other nude lipsticks which would not look good if not paired with smokey eyes, Just Peachy can be worn alone. If you want a nude lip color but hate looking washed out or sick, try this!

Dollhouse Pink is a cool-toned, Nicki-Minaj Pink that has purple undertones. It looks a bit purple in different lighting. I love how vibrant this lipstick is! I've read that it is a dupe for the famous Pink Nouveau of Mac.

Pigmentation, Formulation, Staying power:

Pigmentation is very good. A little goes a long way! However, the formula is a bit drying and can emphasize the lines of lips- the usual dilemma with matte lipsticks. Applying lip balm prior to lipstick application is recommended. Staying power is great at 4-5 hours without eating.

When worn

These lipsticks are great addition to my lipstick collection. I can't wait to get other colors!

What I like:

  • Superb pigmentation
  • Affordable price
  • Great staying power
  • Matte finish
  • Variety of colors available
What I don't like:
  • Packaging
  • Formulation is a bit drying
Rating:
8/10
Despite the drying formulation and the cheap packaging, WetnWild Megalast lipsticks still belong to my list of favorites because the pigmentation is really, really good. I love how matte and vibrant it is!

November Collective Haul: Mememe, NYX, ELF, Krave, Etude House, WetnWild and more!

It's raining makeup this November! I can really feel Christmas coming soon. Here's another makeup haul I'd like to share with you. I thought my October Collective Haul was the last major haul for the year but there's more! You know what I love about this collective haul? I got majority of the items for free!

I've already shared with you my prizes from Shen's Addiction giveaway. These are just the makeup items. I got moooore! Check out Prizes from Shen's Addiction to see everything I got.

I always take joy in reading Kimpossibly Gorgeous posts because I find them very informative and fun to read.  Being an avid reader has its rewards -  I won her Gorgeous Commenter of the Month for October! I'm very happy to finally have Krave Pretty Young Thin and Mememe Beat the Blues Sunbeam! Thanks Kim!

My tita bought me the James Cooper Eyebrow Gel in Frosted Brown and ELF Primer and Line Sealer. She also gave away her Fanny Serrano Eye Shadow Quad, Etude House Lipstick and Lip concealer which were slightly used.

Lastly, I bought 2 WetnWild Megalast Lipsticks (Dollhouse Pink & Just Peachy) which I've been lusting over for quite a time now because they're really good quality lipsticks (Read WnW Megalast Lipsticks Review). I got two Careline Lip Glosses from my sister (pink & purple), I got the brown one a long time ago, I just added it in the picture. The sample size Posie Tint from Benefit is a freebie from Benefit's Sexy Sultry Makeup Workshop I attended 2 weeks ago.

I don't think I'd be buying anymore makeup for the following months. Heeeeeeeeeee :D

Please comment down below if you want any particular products reviewed from the bunch I've shared! I would love to hear from you!

Have a good night!
God bless!

Halloween Makeup Collaboration: Black Bunny (Animal Theme)

I am very excited to share with you another makeup collaboration with fellow beauty bloggers. Jannie of Jannieology, Eyah of Eyahnism, Mhisha of The Touch of Yellow and yours truly have agreed to do a series of Halloween makeup looks. We came up with four different Halloween makeup looks. Animal is our first theme. Stayed tuned for the other three!

I chose to be a black bunny just because I already have these ears. I DIY-ed the bunny ears a year ago for a hat party. I just played with an old pair of black stockings and bendable wires. DIYs are fun!

I focused on the eyes for my bunny look. I did a black and silver smokey eyes which is so easy to do! Winged my eyeliner and added demi-lashes. I wanted to draw a black circle for my nose but the nose of bunnies are Y-shaped. I used WetnWild Think Pink for my lips to compliment my dramatic eye makeup. I used a hot pink eye shadow from my DollFace palette for my cheeks. Yes, eye shadow for my cheeks!

Do I look like a bunny or a mouse? Hihihi. You be the judge! This look is very appropriate for night-outs, smokey eyes+pale lips. Would you agree? :)

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did while creating this look. Can't wait for the next three themes to be unleashed in the following weeks! Collabs are really fun!

Check out my collaborators posts as well!

I would love to hear your thoughts about this look! Drop your comments below!

God bless!

Red vs Pink: WetnWild Think Pink & Stoplight Red Review

Hey hey hey! I've been meaning to make a comparison between red and pink lipsticks (how it can transform a look, which suits best for a given occasion, which goes well with morena/fair-skinned, etc.). I was thinking of what lipsticks to use for the comparison and then these lipsticks came to mind!

These are WetnWild Megalast Lipsticks in Think Pink (901B) Stoplight Red (911D). These lipsticks came from WnW set so they are not full-sized. I figured that they are at the opposite sides of the pole, one very pale pink, the other, very very bright red! Purrrfect for comparison!

Swatches! Stoplight Red is a really bright, attention-seeking, warm-toned red perfect for parties and photo shoots! Can be easily worn by fair-skinned and morena women. Who doesn't love red? On the other hand, Think Pink is a very pale/nude pink lipstick that I find hard to pull off. It washes me out. However, this goes well with smokey eyes!

WnW Megalast lipsticks have a matte finish which I love! The full-sized lipsticks are sold at 299php at WetnWild counters (but only 3 dollars/150php in the US/Canada) Wide variety of colors available! I want to get Mauve Outta Here and Smokin' Hot Pink soon!

Lip swatches! Think Pink settles on the line of my lips even if it's already exfoliated. It's really drying too. Stoplight Red has a better formulation.

Sooooo, red or pink? Which do you think suits me best?

What I like about it:
  • Really good pigmentation. Just one swipe and you're good to go!
  • Long staying power. Up to 4-5 hours!
  • Matte
  • Great color selection
  • Affordable. Only 299php. (especially if bought in the US! anyone who can get me wnw products?)
  • Stoplight red has great formulation
  • Widely available
  • Packaging! I love how simple it looks!
What I don't like about it:
  • Think Pink is too drying! It settles on the line of my lips! Also highlight the darkness of my upper lips
  • Numbering system is difficult to remember! It would be easier if they stamped the names at the bottom rather than numbers. Confusing!
  • Not much reason to dislike the product!
Rating:
9.5/10 WetnWild Megalast lipsticks are really good quality ones for the price! Color payoff is superb!

Recreate: Katy Perry- Wide Awake Makeup by Color is my Weapon

Hey guys! If you are a follower and subscriber of the beautiful Noe Mae, you've probably seen her Katy Perry Wide-Awake Makeup Tutorial. Noe Mae is really good in creating different looks. Very pretty and humble too (she's my girl crush)! She's definitely one of my inspirations in beauty blogging. Now, lets proceed to my own version!

I made it a little more dark and smokey by using a black eye shadow over the crease which added depth to the eye makeup. I used my DollFace palette again! It's really versatile. From brights to darks.

My falsies are about to fall-off. Boohoo! I'm really bad at putting these.

I used WetnWild Silk Finish Lipstick in Dark Wine (522A) for the lips. It's a nice plum shade!

And since my eye makeup is smokey and dramatic, I figured that it could also go well with nude lips. I used NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London.

Which looks better? Plum or nude? You decide! I would love to hear from you!

God bless!

Playing with makeup: Ever Bilena Advance 24 Color Eyeshadow Palette

Good evening ladies! A lot has happened lately hence the lack of post.  We were affected by the flood brought about by the heavy rains which persisted for several days! It was only knee level, not much damage. Nothing compared to how Typhoon Ondoy affected us. The Lord is truly good! No more rain!

I was supposed to post this weeks ago but I was too lazy to do so. Last month, I did a makeup look for my cousin Chloe using my friend's (hello Kring!) EB palette. I don't have a picture of the palette. Glitteresque has a great review on it here

Here are the pictures!

Chloe looked classy and mature in this picture (she's only 13 :p). My favorite!

I used gold shimmery e/s over the lid and the inner corner of her eyes; Then I accentuated it by putting green/blue e/s on the outer v extending towards the middle of her eyelids.

On a different lighting. The EB palette really impressed me! It's so easy to apply and has great color payoff. I'm planning to get one myself. It's only 375php.

Now a picture with yours truly of course! I'm loving my deep red lip color! Thank you so much Chloe for modeling for me! :D I love practicing with other people's faces, makes me get out of my comfort zone. Models, anyone? Hihi.

Upon browsing these pictures, I remembered the eye makeup from the Wet n Wild flyer I got last week. It was almost similar with the look I created for Chloe. Here it is!

Am I right? Am I right? Heeeee. I had to get it out of the trash (basurera mode!). I already threw it when I realized the resemblance.

That's it for tonight! I created two more makeup looks for Chloe (using my Dollface palette!) to share with you. Stay posted as I post them this week!

Have a good night everyone!
God bless!
