NOTD: Revlon Colorstay in Buttercup

Product Description:
ALL SHINE. NO LIGHT. GEL-OUS?
Up to 11 days of lasting color (When worn with Colorstay base and top coats)
No light required

Yellow is such a happy, bright color. It has always been my favorite. So yellow on my nails, why not? Revlon Colorstay in Buttercup is light, subtle yellow. Buttercup is just the right name to it. It is inspired by salon gel nails to provide a long lasting colour and shine. The nail polish line has 30 shades to choose from. I can't wait to try other shades!

I wasn't actually planning on posting this but it is really worth sharing. Why? Because the quality of the product attests to its name - Colorstay. Revlon says that it can last up to 11 days if used with Colorstay base and top coats. I don't have those so I cannot prove that. (Source: Beauty Haven, Revlon)

Mine lasted for 6 days until I noticed chipping and tip wear. Impressive, right? My average polish wear is only 3-4 days when worn without top coat. I applied 2 coats of Buttercup to achieve that shade. The consistency of the nail polish is such a breeze to work with - not runny nor thick, just the right consistency. It is also formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free, the three most harmful elements found in most nail polishes. Yay for that! Aside from its amazing consistency and long wear time, the brush is also a wonder. It has a unique double barrel brush that provides a smooth, streak-free application.

Photos are taken six days since I applied the polish hence the fading/slight chipping. Cracks also appeared on the top part of my nails which is visible on the top photo. Now here's an OOTD to match my nails:
Sorry for the #filter
Buttercup is such a sweet, sophisticated shade of yellow, I think. A great way to brighten up any outfit. Revlon Colorstay is included in the May BDJ Box: Summer Radiance. See my unboxing post.

Revlon Colorstay is Php 325 available at Revlon counters in SM Department Stores/Watsons

My interest in nail polish has been rekindled recently. So, watch out for more nail-related posts!

Have you tried Revlon Colorstay yet?
What is your favorite nail color?

Goodnight and God bless!

Look: Christmas Time!

5 days to go before Christmas! How are you enjoying the Holiday season, so far? I am maximizing my jobless, bum life, stress-free days as I am about to join the workforce first thing next year! Anyway, here's my interpretation of a Dainty Holiday - Dainty MD's Makeup and Nail art Contest

By joining the contest, I'll be able to practice both of the things I love doing - makeup and nailart! It is my first time to do a makeup look with a complementary nail design. Great idea, Ms. Angela!

Green will always be one of the colors of Christmas. It is my favorite color too, next to yellow, of course! I created a subtle smokey eye makeup that is perfect for Christmas dinners/parties! Since the eye makeup is already enough statement, I chose a nude lip color to keep the focus on the eyes.

Products used: Nichido Foundation Stick, L'oreal True Match Powder, Mememe Sunbeam, Ever Bilena Cheek Blush, Ever Bilena Color Pencil, Mememe Ocean Eyes Create The Look Pack, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London

I decide to create a green and black gradient nail design to match my eye makeup. I didn't use a sponge this time. I just used the brush that came with the black nail polish. Gradient is as easy as 1-2-3!

Takpan ang big nose!
Match ba? What do you think of the entire nail and makeup combination? Let me hear your thoughts by commenting down below! I would love to hear from you <3

Merry Christmas!
God bless!

Nail Design for Short Nails

I want to take a break from makeup-related posts with a quick and easy nail art design for short nails! I applied a muted green as base and applied dots using a white nail polish and a dotting tool. I think adding dots to all of my nails will be a little over the top that's why I only chose to put it on my ring finger and thumb.

I applied three coats of Caress in Sea Green which is a lovely green shade! The color has a vintage vibe in it!

I used Sally Hansen in All the White Stuff for the dots.

Lastly, I applied Caronia Fast-Dry Top Coat to secure the nail color.

What do you think of this nail art design? Any nail art ideas for short nails? Share them by commenting below! I would love to hear from you.

God bless!

Purple gradient nails

Happy Monday everyone! As promised, here is the separate post of my purple gradient nails which I included on my Rainy Sunday post. I love doing gradient nails! No need to be creative on this one! :)

Gradient nails can also be referred to as Ombre nails. Ombre is so popular these days - hair, clothes, nails! A DIY ombre shorts is on my to-do list already!

Star connector ring I bought from Quiapo

If you are wondering how I did this, you can just Google how to gradient nails. There are a lot of tutorials out there! But I still hope to come up with nail tutorials too, someday!

These are the nail polishes I used, from l-r: Caronia in First Crush, Bichun #167, OMG in Purple Passion and Maybelline in Wonder Violet.

I intentionally skipped top coat because I love the texture of it so much! The sponge caused that rough texture. Can you see it? I used Maybelline on the very tip of my nails! It has blue flecks in it!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Have a good day!
God bless!

Rainy Sunday: OOTD, NOTD, FOTD

Good evening everyone! Just a quick post for tonight- my outfit, nails and face of the day!

Outfit: This is what I wore to church today (an up-to-date post, finally!). It is cold and raining hence the cardigan. This is my usual go-to look on Sundays.

Black cardigan & Graphic Skirt: Thrifted
White tank top: SM Dept Store
Yellow flats: Ever Gotesco Mall
Bag: Divisoria
Necklace: DIY
Star connector ring: Quiapo

In case you haven't noticed, my necklace looks weird! It was a DIY tassel necklace that didn't survive! (will post about it soon). I did not make it matibay enough. Too bad!

Face: I'm into neutrals lately! Nothing too heavy on my face. I want to keep it simple as much as possible. See below for the list of products used. Careline lipgloss is my current favorite lip product! Reaaaally nice!

Face: Fanny Serrano two-way cake in Organza
Eyebrows: Ever Bilena eye pencil in Brown
Cheeks: San-San cheek blusher in Mocha Blush
Lips: Careline lipgloss #101

Nails: Purple/violet gradient nails. Will make a separate post on this!

That's it! I also want to share what I did after church...my friends and I watched Step Up Revolution! It was a great movie, really. I'm no dancer but the moves and the effects were too awesome. I enjoyed the movie. I definitely recommend you guys to watch it!

Kathryn McCormick looks so pretty! She has very beautiful eyes too! I want to make a Kathryn McCormick-inspired makeup soon. (ang dami kong gustong gawin?!)

Goodnight!
God bless!

NOTD: Orly Pink Chocolate + Zebra stripes

Hi guys! I have a lot to post for the following days! Our internet connection was down for the past days hence the lack of post. Now I'm back with a NOTD! Which was actually done two days ago.

Ta-dah! Did I scare you? Hahaha. Hope not.

I used  Orly in Pink Chocolate as a base color and a black nail polish that comes off with a striping brush for the zebra stripes.

I love animal prints! Easy to do if you have mastered it already.

Also effortlessly chic and striking! If you want a simple yet striking mani, go for animal prints! Just play with colors. :)

That's all for today! Watch out for the upcoming posts!
What do you think about animal prints? :)

God bless!

Tried out my fimo!

Hi! I have been trying to upload everything from my to post album so here, another nail of the past! It's the first time I tried out my fimo here.

I used Caress Blue Marine, a gray color with blue undertones. I really like this color! It's not the usual gray shade. Application was great, 2-3 coats is enough. Caress nail polishes are cheap, only 22.75php per bottle. They have a wide variety of colors. I used a dark blue Sassy Polish to create the stripes. Sassy sells nail polish that comes off with a striper brush. I think they cost 22.75php. Both Caress and Sassy nail polishes are available at Watsons and SM Department Stores.

My thoughts on fimo? They're cute little things! Adds an instant cuteness and art to your nails. The best part of it is they are easy to work with: topcoat is enough to make it stick. How long does it stay on your nail? Well, depends on the kind of work you're doing. It does not come off easily on me, stays on my nail for a week.

What do you think about fimos?
Have a good day!

Come back post

Hello! It's been several months since I last posted here. I don't know why but..I just lost the interest of doing nail art. My nail polishes grew cold and lonely! I paint my nails once in a while but that's it. JUST PAINT IT PLAINLY. I also gave away my nail art brushes and acrylic paint because I don't think I would use it anymore. Hmmmm :|

So why am I still here? Hahaha. I still don't have the answer to that. I just felt like blogging. I am planning to turn this into a personal blog where I can post things other than nail art.

As a come back post, I will show you five nail designs which were done in the past. Here they are!

#1 Copper/Gold Glitter Nails: It's loaded with lots of glitters!

#2 Floral Nail Decals: Are these Cherry Blossoms?

#3 Watermelon Acrylic Design: Epic fail. Now you know why I gave away my acrylic stuff!

#4 White, gray and black gradient: Reminds me of cement

# 5 Peacock!

That's it! I hope I can blog again soon :>

Orange nails and orange walls

These nails were done during the repainting of our house. Our walls were painted orange, haha yes, annoying orange! But it looked good, eventually. Got used to it! And so I also painted my nails with the same shade of orange. I loved it! Which is unusual. :)

I used Caronia Sun Kissed. The photos are not color accurate. They appeared brighter than the actual.

I looooooooooove it! But I took it off after 2 days cause it annoys me at times. :p I don't know what's with orange. But it gets annoying.

Stamped it with zebra prints. And I tried the watercolor effect on my thumb. I didn't do it well. It was lumpy!!

That's it! Good night!
