Playing with makeup: Ever Bilena Advance 24 Color Eyeshadow Palette

Good evening ladies! A lot has happened lately hence the lack of post.  We were affected by the flood brought about by the heavy rains which persisted for several days! It was only knee level, not much damage. Nothing compared to how Typhoon Ondoy affected us. The Lord is truly good! No more rain!

I was supposed to post this weeks ago but I was too lazy to do so. Last month, I did a makeup look for my cousin Chloe using my friend's (hello Kring!) EB palette. I don't have a picture of the palette. Glitteresque has a great review on it here.

Here are the pictures!

Chloe looked classy and mature in this picture (she's only 13 :p). My favorite!

I used gold shimmery e/s over the lid and the inner corner of her eyes; Then I accentuated it by putting green/blue e/s on the outer v extending towards the middle of her eyelids.

On a different lighting. The EB palette really impressed me! It's so easy to apply and has great color payoff. I'm planning to get one myself. It's only 375php.

Now a picture with yours truly of course! I'm loving my deep red lip color! Thank you so much Chloe for modeling for me! :D I love practicing with other people's faces, makes me get out of my comfort zone. Models, anyone? Hihi.

Upon browsing these pictures, I remembered the eye makeup from the Wet n Wild flyer I got last week. It was almost similar with the look I created for Chloe. Here it is!

Am I right? Am I right? Heeeee. I had to get it out of the trash (basurera mode!). I already threw it when I realized the resemblance.

That's it for tonight! I created two more makeup looks for Chloe (using my Dollface palette!) to share with you. Stay posted as I post them this week!

Have a good night everyone!
God bless!

The reason why I'm in a makeup ban & picture overload!

Hi guys! I just want to share with you the reason why I'm in a makeup ban. For the month of August (and unfortunately, for the following months), I've decided to stay away from buying make up!

But why?? Any ideas why?

Okay, I'll tell you. I banned myself from getting make up because I'm saving up for something big. I'm saving up for my own camera! I want to get quality shots of products and looks using my own camera. I've been using my parents' digital camera in taking photos for my blog posts. And and and sometimes, it's quite difficult to borrow from them. I borrow it too much kasi. Hehehe. I want to share quality photos with my readers! What's the point of having great products/looks without quality shots anyway? :)

Sometimes, I have unphotographed  looks because my mom won't allow me to borrow anymore. That's why  I just borrow my dad's Itouch to take pictures. Boo for low quality pictures!

Here are some pictures taken using itouch! Too much vanity, eh?

Pale lips + Fake mole ang peg!

WetnWild Megalast Lipstick in Think Pink

I love putting turbans. Manghuhula ang peg? Char. These are my DIY turbans!

Baliw ang datingan ng lola mo!
With Tobby. The day we bought In2it lippies! Orange Peel and Pink  Alarm

Smokey eyes + nude lips!
NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda

I use PowerCam app in Itouch. Lotsa effects!

Hair is always a mess

Overly lined eyes and nude lips again! I parted my hair in the middle. Miranda Sings style!

LA Colors Frozen Berries on the lips!
That's it! Wish me the best in saving money and keeping away from makeup stalls! Hihihi. I'm planning to get Sony Cybershot W650 which costs 6000php. I hope I can come up with that amount real soon :D

Hope you enjoyed this post! To those who are also in a makeup ban like me, good luck to us! We can do this!

Have a great day!
God bless!

Review: DollFace 88 Color Eye Shadow Palette

I finally laid my hands on DollFace 88 Eyeshadow Palette! Thanks to my sister who gave it to me as a birthday gift (Birthday Haul here). DollFace is a local makeup brand that sells quality makeup items for an affordable price. Visit Dollface here! You’ll enjoy browsing through their products, promise!

For those who have just entered the beauty blogging community like me, I recommend DollFace for you! DollFace is also used by known beauty bloggers like Noe Mae of Color is my Weapon (my girl crush!) and Ana Victorino. Check out their blogs for amaaaaaaazing looks using DollFace cosmetics.

Minimalist packaging. I love it!

Plastic packaging that has a shiny finish. Looks like a mini-laptop!

Color overload!!

Can you imagine how many looks could be created using this palette? Endless! I really love this palette! Each pan measures slightly smaller than a 25-centavo coin.

There are several reviews out there about DollFace cosmetics. You can just Google it.  Swatching all 88 colors is tedious for me that's why I leave it up to DollFace. You can visit DollFace for the swatches.

I enjoyed taking pictures of it hence the photo overload. It is so beautiful to look at! I have created looks using this palette already. Will post them soon!

What I like about it:
  • Affordable price
  • Good color payoff! Use an eye primer to realize the true shade of the color
  • Almost all colors are pigmented especially the matte ones
  • Minimalist packaging. I love how sleek it is! Mine has a shiny finish, I would have preferred a matte one. I believe their other palettes are matte finish
  • Easy to blend
What I don’t like about it:

  •  Even if the packaging looks sleek, it isn’t sturdy
  • Shiny finish of the packaging is prone to scratches!
  • Some eye shadows are not very pigmented especially the shimmer and satin finishes. You need to pack on a lot of product to achieve the right shade!
  • Some eye shadows are too powdery. SOME.
  • Color duplication of some eye shadows or very minimal difference (like 1/2 shade lighter or darker or one in shimmer, other in matte)
  • Doesn't last long! Easily comes off when rubbed!
  • Cannot be used on its own, for me. Use of primer or eye shadow base is a big necessity! Unless you are patient to pack on a lot of e/s on your eyes.

Rating: 8.5/10

Given the number of eye shadows and its affordable price, you can’t complain!  Almost all eye shadows have good color payoff! I’d still recommend you to have one! I love my DollFace palette! I'm planning to get the another set if I have money. I want some more dark e/s for smokey eyes. This set has too much bright colors in it.

Where to get?

My sister bought mine at The Ramp Crossings in Trinoma for 850php. You can order online. Visit DollFace cosmetics on their Multiply site. They also have Facebook.

That’s it! Hope this post is helpful especially to newbies like me!

Have a great day!
God bless!

Purple gradient nails

Happy Monday everyone! As promised, here is the separate post of my purple gradient nails which I included on my Rainy Sunday post. I love doing gradient nails! No need to be creative on this one! :)

Gradient nails can also be referred to as Ombre nails. Ombre is so popular these days - hair, clothes, nails! A DIY ombre shorts is on my to-do list already!

Star connector ring I bought from Quiapo

If you are wondering how I did this, you can just Google how to gradient nails. There are a lot of tutorials out there! But I still hope to come up with nail tutorials too, someday!

These are the nail polishes I used, from l-r: Caronia in First Crush, Bichun #167, OMG in Purple Passion and Maybelline in Wonder Violet.

I intentionally skipped top coat because I love the texture of it so much! The sponge caused that rough texture. Can you see it? I used Maybelline on the very tip of my nails! It has blue flecks in it!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Have a good day!
God bless!
