DollFace Tutorial: Prom Makeup Look

Hey guys! I've been MIA the entire weekend because of an out of town trip. I had no stable internet connection.  I'm back with another tutorial using my DollFace 88 Color Eye Shadow Palette. Check out my first tutorial DollFace Palette: Purple Dreams

This is a simple makeup look for a high school prom. During our high school prom, we followed a color code where juniors wear pink while seniors wear blue. The dress I'm wearing in the photo is what I wore during my junior prom!  Kasya pa!

Scroll down if you want to see how I achieved the eye makeup!

These are the eye shadows that I used: silver shimmer eye shadow, purple matte eye shadow and black matte eye shadow. I chose a purple eye shadow because I think it compliments my pink dress well. A shimmery silver eye shadow is great for evening occasions, extra sparkly! A little black eye shadow helps in making the look extra dramatic.

I opted for a light pink lipstick for this look because a darker lip color would over power the entire look. Also, this makeup look is for a high school prom. I think a light pink lip color suits the occasion well. I used Ever Bilena's Off Beat Pink and topped it off with Sally Hansen's lip gloss.

You'll end up with something like this! See those shimmers? I love the shimmers on the silver eye shadow! I think shimmery eye shadows are perfect for evening occasions.

One important thing about prom makeup is the foundation. Since prom is an evening occasion, flash photography is used. Don't use a foundation with SPF as it gives off a white cast. You don't want looking like Casper on your prom photos! Prom happens only twice a lifetime so look your best!

You know what's my favorite part during my high school prom? Not the dancing but the eating part! <3 Make sure to bring your powder and lipstick for a quick retouch!

That's it for my prom makeup look! What do you think about this look? How did you look during your prom? Do you have any makeup dilemmas during your prom? Share your thoughts! I would love to hear from you!

Have a good day!
God bless!

Iya

Shoe Haul: Jessica & Celine

Are you in search for waterproof shoes? Worried that your favorite pair of flats gets soaked? Better try  these flats out!

Two days ago, my mom and I went to the mall and got these shoes. I was actually looking for gladiators but this pair caught my attention. Are you familiar with the brand, Jessica? The shoe section of SM Department Stores have Jessica. I love how the brand produces trendier designs now! Really eye-catching! Another thing I like about these flats is that I don't have to worry about getting them wet.

The color combination is really nice. I can easily pair this with any outfit. The insoles look so fashionable too.

The other pair is from Celine which is sold for 499php. This pair is a little bit more comfortable than the other.

Like the flats from Jessica, I can easily pair this up with any outfit as well. Looks so chic!

It's raining so much lately and I hate getting my shoes wet. Soaking really shortens the life of shoes! (Hello Solemate flats) Good thing these fashionable & sturdy  plastic shoes are here to solve my dilemma! I don't have to resort to my reliable flipflops during rainy days.

What do you think about these shoes? Do you own any pair from these brands?

Have a good night! God bless!
Love,
Iya

September Lovin: Disney Inspired Look *Jasmine*

Hey guys! Makeup challenge #1 for September Lovin Challenge with Michelle of All About Being Glam and Michelle of Micmic's Corner is Disney princess-inspired make up! If you want to know more about this month long challenge, read September Lovin: Intro. My choices were limited to black/brown haired princesses only because I don't own any colorful wigs nor I have Adobe Photoshop installed in my laptop.

The makeup look I created is very, very simple. I used a brown eye shadow over my lids and added a thick winged eye liner to create an illusion of bigger eyes. Princess Jasmine has big, almond-shaped eyes, right? I also added a thick pair of falsies for my eyes to appear even bigger and dramatic!

For the lips, I chose a plum shade that's not too dark. Clinique's A Different Grape is perfect for this look!

Since my makeup is super simple, I decided to dress up! I was able to gather all the things that I needed! I used my oversized green ring as a gem for the headpiece. The hair extension I bought years ago helped too!

More vanity shots..

And for a little surprise for the Michelles of this challenge, this video is for you! Heeeeeeheee. I think I internalized the Jasmine idea too much. *Note: Please tone down your speaker volume first!

Review: NYX Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose

Ever since I've tried my sister's NYX round lipstick in Tea Rose, I've decided to have one. Just like what happened with NYX SMLC in Addis Ababa. Review here. For the second time around, NYX product had me at one try! This is my first NYX matte lipstick. The color of the lipstick appeared a little brighter and pinker than the actual.

I decided to get the matte version of Tea Rose because NYX round lipsticks are too creamy for my liking. Not long wearing, too. And so I ordered this at Chic Cosmetics Manila for only 235php! I was too excited because she had them on hand. I am too impatient for preorders.

At first, I was surprised that it didn't have the same shade as NYX rls in Tea Rose. It turned out a little pinker! I was expecting a MLBB shade. This turned out to be MLBP (my lips but pinker!). I really like the color. Even if it didn't turn out the way I expected it to be, I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm happy that I got the matte version rather than the round one.

It has brownish pink color which can be great for everyday use. This is my current favorite lipstick. It appears to have a purplish shade at different lighting which I find nice. Other than the color, the other thing that I love about this lipstick is its staying power! Look!

I barely recognized the difference between the two! The staying power is what I love about matte lipsticks so much <3

Here it is when worn! I love how it can be paired with any makeup look.

What I like:
  • The color is great for everyday use!
  • Packaging. It's simple and it has a clear window at the middle
  • Decent staying power. It stays after eating.
  • Not drying at all, great formulation
  • Affordable for 235php
  • Pigmentation is great
What I don't like:
  • Availability issues. NYX lipsticks are not available at SM Malls
  • It has a weird scent
Rating:
9/10
I love this lipstick so much! Really wearable. Great staying power and pigmentation as well.

Where to get:

Chic Cosmetics Manila for 235php. Other NYX sellers have this too.

I hope this review helped! What's your favorite NYX Matte Lipstick? What do you think about this shade? I would love to hear from you!

God bless!

Iya

Estee Lauder Makeup Set

Hey guys! I'm finally sharing with you the Estee Lauder products I used on Mommy's Makeover and my Office Girl look. I'm not very much familiar with EL products that's why I don't know if this came in a set or bought individually. It came with a pink pouch that's why I'm guessing this is a set. For now, I'll provide you a short description of each product. I will make a review of each product whenever I find time.

Estee Lauder's Pure Color Eyeshadow quad is perfect for day or night makeup. It has very versatile colors: Nude Fresco, light pink satin eye shadow; Sandbar Beige, matte beige eye shadow perfect for highlighting the brow bone; Pretty Penny, a shimmery brown eye shadow perfect for the crease area and; Ivy envy, a moss green satin eye shadow for the outer V.

Lash primer is new to me! I'm familiar with eye primers but not with lash primers.

I love this lipstick!! Perfect MLBB shade! It has a yummy raisin scent which I find so nice. This kind of lip color can be worn everyday!

The formula is perfect as well. Just the right creaminess.

Lastly, a lip gloss which has the same yummy raisin scent as the Pure Color Lipstick in Rose Tea.

That's it! Have you tried any Estee Lauder products before? Let me hear your thoughts on them!

Have a great night!
God bless!
Love,
Iya
