Virginia Olsen Haul + Short Review

Here are the contents of the goodie bag given to every blogger who attended the Virginia Olsen Holiday Collection Launch. Virginia Olsen is generous enough to include a sample of their different products for us to try out - brush, foundation, blush and an eye shadow! Sophia Eyelash Enhancer is a little extra I won from the raffle. I took advantage of the 20% they gave during that day so I bought a foundation for my mom (in square container).

Sophia Eyelash Enhancer (2750php)

By applying Sophia once every day you will achieve the beautiful eyelashes you have been dreaming of. As early as 8 weeks, you will begin to notice considerable changes in the length and thickness of your eyelashes. However, full results will be achieved within a 16-week period when you will experience full growth of your eyelashes.

I'll be posting an update about Sophia as I am nearing my 4 weeks of usage.

Blushing Pink (blush) and Tinkerbelle  (eye shadow)

Virginia Olsen Minerals blushers are made with a high density of the most expensive natural mineral ingredients in the market. These gorgeous natural makeup will give you a lovely silk sheer look with a pop of natural healthy warmth to your complexion.

Virginia Olsen Minerals eye colour has been produced with a high density of mineral makeup ingredients, so a little goes a long way. These natural cosmetics can be used interchangeably as eyeliner, highlighter, or eyeshadow.

Left: Tinkerbelle, Right: Blushing Pink

I'm really in love with Tinkerbelle! It appears purple/lavender with so much iridescence in it. I can't wait to use this on my makeup looks. On the other hand, Blushing Pink has a light pink shade which would suit better with fair-skinned ladies. It doesn't show up on my morena skin.

L-R: Hide a Pore Medium, Medium Bisque Matte Foundation and Warm Olive Glow
Hide a Pore is from Virinia Olsen's Green Tea Line. It's more than just a makeup! Here's the product description from Virginia Olsen website.

This is a very special concealer to hide large pores, and help heal acne prone skin.  It makes the perfect night minerals for your skin leaving your skin with the appearance of reduced pore size in the morning.

I took advantage of the 20% sale and got a foundation for my mom in the shade Medium Bisque Matte. Original price is 280php, I got it for inly 224php!

Colour builds lightly, layer after layer, to provide perfect colour match against your skin tone. Virginia Olsen Minerals provide superior coverage to camouflage those problematic facial areas. And hey, it lasts all day long!

Warm Olive Glow is another foundation. This one's for me! It matches my skin color well.

I'me very to find out that a brush is included in our loot. I've been meaning to try their brushes! Everyone got a flat eye shadow applicator.

Virginia Olsen Beauty Tools are made from premium-grade materials, which can be used with wet or dry products. These professional length beauty tools allow you to shade or blend mineral cosmetics with ease. The synthetic bristles are hypo-allergenic and safe for delicate complexions. The sleek ferrules are made from recycled aluminum.

Virginia Olsen brushes are really of good quality. They're the softest brushes I've come across with. No kidding! Read Virginia Olsen Holiday Collection Launch if you want to see more of their products!

What I like about Virginia Olsen:
  • They're mineral! No harmful chemicals for the skin!
  • Affordable
  • Variety of shades available for eye shadows, blushes and foundation
  • Eye shadows, foundations and blushes are very pigmented, soft and blendable.
  • The brushes are really soft and dense!
  • Sturdy, simplistic packaging

What I don't like:
  • Aside from the fall outs during makeup application which is normal for mineral cosmetics, none!

Rating:
9/10

Virginia Olsen Minerals Holiday Collection Launch

Virginia Olsen Minerals, a cosmetics company based in the United States is starting to make its name here in our country. What sets it apart from other cosmetics company is their choice to create mineral makeup instead of the traditional chemical-based makeup which are often harmful to our skin.

What is mineral makeup all about, anyway?

Virginia Olsen is 100% natural, paraben free, bismuth & talc free, and pure mineral make-up suitable for women of any age, ethnicity or skin type. Our formulations are calming to the skin, making them ideal for women prone to sensitivities; and being fragrance-free, they are particularly compatible with delicate skin, giving a sheer, natural, flawless coverage. Further, our makeup unlocks the therapeutic properties of zinc oxide and the natural sunscreen provided by titanium dioxide. (Source: Virginia Olsen Website)

They recently launched their Holiday Collection - Fantasy, an enchanting holiday collection of iridescent shimmer which is only available for a limited time.

Ms. Hazel Salcedo & Ms. Jirbie Go

VOM's Marketing Manager, Ms. Jirbie Go and Ms. Hazel Salcedo, Marketing Assistant and author of Dress Me Up Buttercup provided a brief information about the brand. They also tackled about their different products. I was quite surprised that VOM offers a wide range of products - foundation, finishing veil, contouring and blush powder, eye shadows, makeup brushes and more!

Are you ready to see their Holiday Collection? Here it is!

The Holiday Fantasy Collection has seven enchantingly iridescent eye shadows: Moonlight Star, Lover's Moon, Crescent Moon, Stardust, Tinkerbelle Fairydust and Kryptonite. Now, don't be fooled by how they look like from the jar. They definitely look different once swatched.

L-R: Kryptonite, Fairydust, Stardust, Tinkerbelle, Crescent Moon, Moonlight Star, Lover's Moon

We exchanged oooohs and aaahhhs as we swatched the eye shadows. Everyone was amazed by the iridescence every color gives. Tinkerbelle is my favorite from the bunch!

Aside from cosmetics, they also sell makeup brushes which are made of synthetic fibers. They're the softest! I wasn't able to share a photo of their Kabuki Brush. If you don't have a kabuki brush yet, you must get from VOM, nothing compares to its softness, no kidding!

The launch was a massive swatchfest! Aside from their Holiday Collection, they also let us try their other products. A day is not enough to swatch every eyeshadow from their regular line. They have every color you can think of! My favorites are Chartreuse (apple/lime green) and Gold Bars.

Hide-A-Pore is a special concealer to hide large pores and help heal acne prone skin.

They have different shades of foundation to suit every skintone.

I was able to swatch two of their seven blush shades.

Every girl dreams of having long, thick and beautiful eyelashes and VOM provides the answer to this dream! By applying Sophia Eyelash Enhancer every night, longer and fuller lashes can be achieved. Full results will be visible in 16 weeks. The product costs 2750php, a bit expensive but still cheaper compared to other eyelash enhancing products. *A full-sized bottle of Sophia Eyelash Enhancer will be included at December Salad Box. First 50 subscribers to signup to their starter plan will get to try Sophia! Hurry and signup now!*

You guessed it right! I luckily won the raffle and get to take home my very own Sophia Eyelash Enhancer! I'm very excited for the results. I'll share a documentation every four weeks, stay tuned!

Everyone had a great time at the bloggers' launch. Thanks to Ms. Jirbie and Ms. Hazel and to the whole VOM team for inviting us over!

The group: Ayzee of Chilipina, Eyah of Eyahnism, Aya of Codename Aya, Ms. Jirbie, Genn of Plus Size Love, *Me*, Ms. Hazel of Dress Me Up ButterCup and Char of Yellow Yum

I'll be sharing with you the contents of my loot next, stay tuned!
