Review: Miners Lip Colour & Moisture Effect Lipsticks

Not a very long time ago, I commented how I like Miners Moisture Effect lipstick in English Rose on Kimpossibly Gorgeous' review on Miners lipsticks. Seems like Ms. Gracey of The Pinkish Hub had it all figured out. She sent me two Miners lipsticks for review: Lip Colour in Vogue and Moisture Effect in English Rose.

These lipsticks easily stood out from my lipstick collection (kala mo ang dami hahaha!) because of its unique packaging.

Miners Lipsticks have color caps so there's no need to open every tube nor read the name label below which may be tedious if you have a huge lipstick collection. Choosing what lipstick to wear would definitely a breeze!

Swatches:

Product description from Miners:

English Rose - As the name suggests, English Rose is a delicate pink lipstick that is demure and feminine and will go perfectly with the natural beauty look

Vogue - A velvety smooth vintage-red shade that glides gently onto lips locking in moisture and leaving them drenched in color. Vogue Lip Colour is a vibrant red shade, the perfect lipstick for creating a super sexy pout.

Top: Vogue
Bottom: English Rose
Look how pigmented they are! Vogue is swiped twice while English Rose is swiped only once. English Rose has better pigmentation than Vogue. While Vogue appears sheer at one swipe, the color is definitely buildable. Vogue and English Rose come from two different lipstick line that Miners carries: Lip Colour and Moisture Effect. Matte Effect is the third lipstick line that the product carries.

Product description from Miners:

Lip Colour - Perfect your pout with Miners Cosmetics range of stunning and vibrant Lip Colours. Choose from a selection of twelve luxurious lipsticks for irresistibly kissable lips.

Moisture Effect - An entirely NEW moisturizing lipstick collection specially infused with Aloe Vera and Jojoba. Moisture Effect will guide onto lips locking in moisture whilst leaving them saturated in juicy colour.

Both lipsticks are very creamy and glides smoothly on the lips. Its moisturizing formulation protect your lips from getting dry. Even if I've exfoliated and moisturized my lips prior to lipstick application, the product still settled on the lines of my lips which is very noticeable from my lip swatches. It's not very noticeable from afar but I still find it bothering.

When worn:

English Rose is perfect for everyday makeup look, a classic warm pink that every girl should have. Vogue, a bright cool-toned red is great for night outs and dinner dates. I love both colors because they're definitely wearable and could easily suit any skin tone.

What I like:
  • Great pigmentation. One swipe and you're good to go!
  • Glides smoothly on the lips
  • Moisturizing formula
  • Its color cap makes lipstick selection easier
  • Sweet scent
  • Available in different colors

What I don't like:
  • The clear plastic packaging makes it prone to scratches. It does not look sturdy too.
  • Staying power is so-so. It goes off completely after a meal which is normal for creamy lipsticks
  • Settles on the line of the lips
  • I find it pricey for 300php
Rating:
7/10
To sum it up, I love its creamy formulation, pigmentation and unique packaging but staying power is something I really value when I'm looking for lipsticks. But then again, the staying power of both lipsticks are acceptable given that they're creamy not matte-finish lipsticks.

Where to get:
300php at The Pinkish Hub

  7. English rose is very pretty! The case looks good though you said nga na prone to scratching.

I am not a fan of creamy lipsticks though. It'll be good if there would be a matte lipstick similar to these shades. =)

  9. The packaging looks cute! I get annoyed when the products settles on my lip lines too. This happens when it's too creamy or slippery.

    1. Agree! I usually top a creamy lipstick with a translucent powder to avoid it from settling on my lip lines.
