National Makeover Day by HBC: A Preview

The thought of makeovers always excites me. As a makeup enthusiast, I both love giving and having makeovers – new hair color and haircut, makeup, manicure and pedicure, name it! Getting makeovers is such an exciting way to welcome a beautiful change.

An intimate gathering with fellow beauty bloggers was held at Stacys BGC where HBC talked about the National Makeover Day. Yes, you’ve read that right. Let me tell you what happened during the event first before I go into the details of the National Makeover Day.

Delicious food was served before the program began. Fried chicken was my personal favorite!

Even the cupcakes match the white and pink theme of the event. How adorable!

The event was organized and hosted by the ever jolly Kumi of LovingSunshine; Ms. Chi did a short welcome message while Drei who happens to be one of my best friends in college did a short presentation about The National Makeover Day. So proud of you, Drei!

L-R: Kumi, Drei, and Ms. Chi
After the short intro, we had a group discussion where we shared what Beautiful Change is all about for us. It was the most interesting part of the afternoon for me because I get to listen to the stories of fellow beauty bloggers. It is always wonderful to share insights with people who have the same passion as I have.

The Beautiful Change that I experienced is about having the courage to wear bold red lipsticks. I used to be uncomfortable in wearing red lipsticks because I felt that it was too much. I felt that red lipsticks may only be worn in parties/special events. However, I am in the field of sales where I meet and talk to a lot of people everyday. I figured that I needed to look presentable and powerful especially when delivering sales presentation...and that's how I learned wearing red lipsticks. Wearing one gives me the extra confidence that I need.

So, are you ready to say yes to a beautiful change?

The National Makeover Day will be on June 12, 2014 from 10:00 AM onwards at Trinoma Mall Activity Center and in all HBC outlets nationwide. Free services will be given - hair colouring & hair styling, facial and diamond peel, makeup makeovers, manicure, pedicure, foot spa and more! There will also be Personality Development Talks where practical makeover tips will be given. And oh, celebrity guests will be there to grace the event as well!

As usual, the day wouldn't pass without picture taking. More photos!

I think I'll see you more often, Drei!

Bing Castro's (The Project Awesome) Meet & Greet

A couple of days ago, Bing Castro of The Project Awesome had her first Meet and Greet at the Penthouse of Tivoli Garden Residences in Mandaluyong. I consider Bing as one of the best local beauty bloggers in town. Her talent in creative makeup is truly exceptional - precise but still doable. She also has a keen eye in affordable makeup products with good quality!

The program commenced with a short self-introduction. Bing has been in the beauty blogging industry for 2 years. She's currently taking up BS Psychology as her second degree. She's also a makeup artist and a good one, too!

My beautiful seatmates for the day - Raych of The Beauty Move and Gina of Ginaholic.

I didn't really expect a full meal because the event was set at 1-6PM but look, look, great food! The venue was beautifully decorated with black and orange drapings as well if you have noticed from the first photo. It was really bongga!

Bing had a makeup demo, a much awaited part for me. I'll finally be able to witness The Project Awesome in flesh! Unlike other makeup demos I've witnessed in the past, hers was very detailed. Bing was able to explain why this and not that, if you get what I mean. She did the model's brows like magic! I also find her technique in combining two mascaras (lengthening+volumizing) particulary interesting. She has a post about it here
Gano ka-close?
Even if I've already been with Bing during the Pros for Props Makeup Workshop, I still can't help but admire her natural beauty and her flawless makeup application which explains the closeup photos. Sorry, Bing! I allowed my camera lens to do the zooming since I have a very poor vision. Kahit gano pa ka closeup, flawless makeup talaga!

Displayed around the venue were Glory of New York Skincare products. GNY, an established cosmaceuticals and cosmetics brand manufactured in the US is one of Bing's major sponsors during the event. If you are an avid follower of Bing, you'll often see GNY products in her video tutorials.

The meet & greet wouldn't be complete without a picture with Bing, of course! She is towering at 5'10 plus about 2 inches of heels.

#Selfie with Colour Collection Kissmark on my lips.

Meet Kat Imperial, a fellow makeup junkie and a very pretty one, too!

The meet and greet ended with a couple of games and lots of prizes. We were all so focused on winning the games hence the lack of photos. I really had a wonderful time! Thanks for hosting a really memorable meet and greet, Bing! I'll be posting about the prizes I got next!

Happy 5th Year, Project Vanity!

Last Saturday, Liz Lanuzo celebrated the 5th anniversary of her beauty blog, Project Vanity. It was an afternoon of beauty talk, inspiration, learning, socialization and well-groomed brows. The event was held at Beauty Bar, Bonifacio High Street, The Fort.

The event was co-sponsored by Fairydrops, K-Palette, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Beauty Bar.
CBTL uses their Single Serve Beverage System in making their drinks.

The funny and adorable Karrots of Live Love Loz hosted the event. She and her blond hair is so pretty!

Liz demonstrated a quick and high-impact makeup for everyday look. Of course, she used makeup products from Fairydrops and K-Palette. During the demonstration, Liz willingly spill out her tips and tricks in makeup application. From foundation to mascara application. You know what's one important thing I learned during the demonstration? Dab not swipe! Liz was able to stress out the importance of applying makeup in a dabbing motion. After the demo, there was Ask Liz, live! Everyone could ask question and Liz with all her knowledge about makeup answered all of them.

Nelly See of Pinkbox, the person Liz looks up to, was there to share how she's able to find fulfillment and success in her business. It was very inspirational! I will always remember how she said that the only thing that  is limiting ourselves from doing what we want is our minds.

CBTL had a veranda and a nice view of The Fort. It is where I met new people, beautiful people!

Mariana of The Beauty Bee, Kring, Kim of Kimpossibly Gorgeous, Eula of Eula Sleeps and Khristine of Musings of an OC Mom.

With fellow beauty bloggers - Kim, Mhisha, Yette and me
Meet Kring, Chicadora partner and my date for the day.

We tried milk tea from Dakasi upon leaving The Fort because Kring got a GC from the event.

Happy 5th year, Project Vanity! You are truly a big help and inspiration to the local beauty blogging community. More years to come!

Krave Minerale Cosmeceutical's First Anniversary

It's great to finally have time to sit in front of my laptop and create a post for this blog! My job has been eating up a lot of my time and energy during weekdays while my weekends are devoted to church ministry. Not that I am complaining, I am actually grateful to have a job that I enjoy and to be entrusted with different responsibilities.

Last January, Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals had their First Anniversary & Product Launching at Palladium Bar, New World Hotel, Makati. Not only did they celebrate a year's success, they also introduced new products for their organic skin care and mineral makeup line.

Aside from witnessing such momentous event, I also had a chance to meet awesome bloggers! It was nice to finally meet the people behind two of my favorite blogs - Celline of Product Arena and the ever mysterious, Kim of Kimpossibly Gorgeous

L-R: Raych, Kim, Laura, me, Celline

Ms. Trina, the brains behind the brand, did a thank you speech for everyone who supported and patronized the brand. If not for her hard work and devotion, Krave would not be where it is now. Congratulations, Ms. Trina!

Tadaaaaa!  Introducing, Krave's new mineral makeup and organic skin care products! Everyone huddled over the glass display as soon as the new products were unveiled. If only I could open up the glass display and get to see the products up close, I would!

ZenZest Diva Off

*All photos from Genzel Habab

Several weeks ago, I had the privilege to attend ZenZest Diva Off  at Redbox, Greenbelt 3. I was really giddy upon reading Liz of Project Vanity's invite! I was so excited as it was my first time to attend a ZenZest event. I didn't know what to expect or who to meet during that day. The brand hosted such event to introduce their Holiday Gift Sets which make perfect gifts for family, friends and loved ones this Christmas!

What a great place to hold such event - Redbox. Rock, dine & roll, indeed! Yay for buffet dinner! <3

In my opinion, the brand's Holiday Gift Sets are nicely packaged and well-thought of. Great gift ideas! Would you believe each box is only 75- 120php each?

I can't believe I've finally met the awesome couple, Divine Lee and Victor Basa! Divine Lee is the brand ambassadress of Zen Zest. She shared how much she loves the Room Fragrances.

Raych of Makeup by Raych and Gen-zel of Genzel Kisses were my buddies for the night.

Aside from listening and being entertained from beauty bloggers belting out different songs, meeting them is another thing that made the night awesome. There are a lot of good singers during the night!

Genzel and I with the very bubbly Teena Arches of The Kikay Girl on Youtube.

With Divine Lee and Victor Basa! I spent a good amount of time staring at the lovely couple!

Martha of The Beauty Junkee, Liz of Project Vanity, Ms. Michelle Fontelera, Founder & President of ZenZest Asia and Melai of Style & Soul. Martha won the grand prize for the videoke contest. She has an awesome voice!

Divine Lee gamely sang for everyone!

Finally met Ms. Donna of My Lucid Intervals who is very nice and approachable! She's one of the beauty bloggers I really look up to.

I really had an awesome night! Kudos to the ZenZest Team and Liz Lanuzo for successfully organizing a fun-filled event. I'm sure everyone had a blast! I'll be sharing with you my Zen Zest haul next. Stay posted!
