Non-Heat Deep Waves

Keyti of Brushes and Pens shared Bubz of Bubzbeauty's video on how to create curls without heat. Check out her post here! The process looked pretty easy so I gave it a try!

Instead of letting it up for two hours, I had it overnight. Here are the results!

Here is how it looked like upon removing the elastics. As opposed to loose curls produced by Bubz, I had tight curls because I let it on overnight instead of just two hours. I'm quite surprised with the pointed curls. They're in zigzag form! I'm used to the typical round curls produced by curling irons.

*Pardon the unfilled brows!

The photo on the left is when I just had it down while the photo on the right is how my hair looked like after almost 8 hours. The curls stayed longer than I expected! I didn't apply any hair product (mousse/gel/hairspray) for the curls to stay put.

I suggest you try this out ladies! If you want fabulous locks without damaging your hair, this is for you!

Have you tried any non-heat curling techniques yet? Share your thoughts below!

Have a good night!

  6. did try this one before. i wish i could have made a video tutorial too. i found out about this technique while doing my sister's makeup. I tied her hair like that and after an hour, I took it off and voila, it turned into beautiful natural curls. So, I blogged about it and tried it on my own hair. Did it overnight and I got nice short beautiful curls. Here's a link to my post: http://www.gelleesh.com/2012/01/how-to-do-my-curls.html

  8. Cute! Good thing your hair is impressionable. Mine is VERY stubborn. Usually, even with a curling iron, the curls don't last long.

    1. My hair used to be so straight and stubborn before. Since I had it colored, straightened, permed and all the hair treatments that you could think of, it possessed a different texture na.
      thank you for sharing! :)

  9. I've tried non-heat curling techniques from Bubz (and other gurus in Youtube), but it really can't compete with the curls I get from my curling iron. >.<

To prevent or lessen the damage, I use a heat protectant spray and religiously get hair treatments. :)
